When DoubleVision Pro is installed, it automatically generates a free 30-day license. This allows you to try all of DoubleVision Pro’s powerful features – and decide you can’t live without it! Your 30-day license can be converted to a permanent license at any time during the 30-day period.

2.1   How to License DoubleVision Pro
          for Windows

Any user can license DoubleVision Pro on Windows computers as long as he has write access to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry key.

1.       Purchase your license(s) by visiting our Web site at www.tridia.com.

2.       Select Start > Programs > DoubleVision Pro > DoubleVisionPro Licensing  > Create or Locate Tridia License File.

The Create New Tridia Software License File dialog is displayed.

3.       Click Open to create the file with the default name and location.

The license file is created and opened in Notepad.

4.       Follow the instructions in the comment area. Enter your license key below the comment area, then save the file and exit Notepad.

DoubleVision Pro is now licensed.

2.2   Editing the License File

You can use the Start > Programs > DoubleVision Pro > DoubleVision Pro Licensing > Edit Tridia License File option to add a new license key to a license file that you previously created.

This option is typically used to add licenses to allow you to view and support additional users.

Note: DoubleVision Pro uses a "floating license" concept, in that only nodes currently running DoubleVision Pro are counted against your license. This is in contrast to a static license, which counts all computers on the network.

2.3   Upgrades

An upgrade denotes the software required to upgrade your release to the latest release not within the same release number (for example, 1.0 to 1.2). Install the upgrade by following the standard installation instructions. The DoubleVision Pro upgrade will automatically install as a full working copy with a 30-day evaluation license.

2.4   Updates

An update is the software required to bring your version of DoubleVision Pro up to date within the same release number (1.0.1 to 1.0.3). Install the update by following the standard installation instructions.

DoubleVision Pro automatically senses that you are updating your software during installation. Once installed, the new version of DoubleVision Pro is ready to go with no further action needed.

2.5   How to License DoubleVision Pro for UNIX

For information on licensing DoubleVision Pro on UNIX machines, see the Support section of the Tridia Web site (http://triweb.tridia.com/documentation/dvu_licensing.html).
