 Tridia Corporation
Consolidates Its Product Line Around DoubleVision® Pro
Tridia discontinues DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux and DoubleVision
for Windows products
ATLANTA | OCTOBER 1, 2003 | Tridia Corporation (www.tridia.com),
a global provider of multiplatform, Internet safe remote administration
and support software to administrators that require maximum network
and system availability, announced it will discontinue its DoubleVision
for UNIX/Linux and DoubleVision for Windows product effective January
1, 2004. With the ascent of its DoubleVision Pro product as the
premier multiplatform remote administration and support product
that allows administrators to remotely manage remote Windows, Linux
and UNIX computers safely over the Internet, made the functionality
in DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux and DoubleVision for Windows redundant.
"DoubleVision Pro combines all the functionality found in
DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux and DoubleVision for Windows into one
product. Better still, DoubleVision Pro provides a framework for
supporting multiple platforms and doing it safely over the Internet.
This functionality is not present in our UNIX/Linux and Windows
specific products," says Vince Frese, CEO and president of
Tridia Corporation. "This multiplatform, Internet safe functionality
reflects the demands of today security conscious, Internet-based
companies and now DoubleVision Pro meets those demands in one integrated
product."
As of January 1, 2004, DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux and DoubleVision
for Windows will no longer be available for sale. Tridia will continue
to support these products through December 31, 2004.
The DoubleVision Pro for UNIX/Linux module provides all the functionality
of the DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux product, plus it seamlessly integrates
with the DoubleVision Pro framework. This allows administrators
to remotely administer and support UNIX and Linux servers over the
Internet or private networks. Customers of DoubleVision for UNIX/Linux
are being urged to upgrade to DoubleVision Pro. Special upgrade
programs are now available to make the upgrade process easy and
very affordable.
"By upgrading to DoubleVision Pro, our customers take a quantum
leap forward in being able to remotely support their systems. Since
DoubleVision Pro is designed to allow the access of multiple platforms
over the Internet, our customers are getting an administration and
support solution that will allow them to meet the dynamic needs
of the future. DoubleVision Pro gives them a framework that they
can grow with," adds Frese.
DoubleVision for Windows customers are able to upgrade to the DoubleVision
Pro for Windows module at no cost. The DoubleVision Pro for Windows
module allows them to remotely administer and support Windows-based
systems within the multiplatform, Internet safe framework of DoubleVision
Pro. Tridia's remote administration and support products provide
an affordable solution to information technology's (IT) critical
need to better manage and support multiplatform, distributed systems,
particularly over the Internet. With Tridia's DoubleVision Pro and
Tridia Internet Access Server products, IT can quickly maximize
their network and systems availability and turn downtime into uptime.
