Overview of iTivity Remote Access for Physicians
iTivity Remote Access for Physicians is a premised-based solution. iTivity agents (iAgents) are installed on the computer or healthcare device that needs to be remotely accessed. The iAgents make an outbound connection via an encrypted tunnel to the iTivity server (iServer). These outbound connections preserve the integrity of the network security since no ports need to be opened on the firewall. The iServer maintains the connection, authenticates users, and logs all access. The physician can access any of the remote computers or devices connected to the iServer by using the iTivity Physicians Access Manager (iPAM). Once the physician authenticates, each computer and device they are authorized to access appears in the iPAM. To access, the physician simply points and clicks on the computer or device. All access by the physician is logged.
