Overview of iTivity Remote Access for Retail ITiTivity Remote Access for Retail IT is a premised-based solution. iTivity agents (iAgents) are installed on the computer that needs to be remotely accessed. The iAgents make an outbound connection via an encrypted tunnel to the iTivity server (iServer). These outbound connections preserve the integrity of the network security since no ports need to be opened on the firewall. The iServer maintains the connection, authenticates users, and logs all access. The technician can access any of the remote computers and POS terminals connected to the iServer by using the iTivity manager (iManager). Each computer appears in the iManager. To access, the technician simply points and clicks on the computer. Access is authenticated by the centralized authentication server and the technician is granted remote access to the remote computer.
